Now users at Ask Physics can add equations to their comments and questions.

Ask Physics has installed the Latex server and now users can type latex code to insert complex equations to their comments or questions.

If you are not familiar with latex code, use the following site to generate the code for the equation that you need.

http://www.codecogs.com/latex/eqneditor.php

When you visit the above site you can edit and view the result of the code generate. You have the option to copy the image of the equation or to copy the code itself (what you typed for getting the image equation; not the html code supplied) and paste the code in your comment.

Find time of death of patient with differential equations

Mr. N.P. Sahani asked:

“The differential equation and solution for finding the time of death of a patient”

Answer:

See that the question is to find the time of death (Not predicting the time of death. I thought that when I read it first.)

I can give some links which will be helpful in this connection

SHM – Derivation of equation

SHM or SHMSimple Harmonic Motion is the fundamental concept to various complex systems. The following links will give you the opportunity to understand the concept well.

How is the equation of simple harmonic motion y=a sinwt derived and what is the physical meaning of phase?

Matter, Antimatter and Einstein’s equation

It is my understanding that when antimatter comes in contact with matter that there is nothing left but pure energy.

And since energy and matter are interchangeable (E=Mc2) doesn’t that mean you are actually left with all matter and no antimatter?

Asked Ken

Answer:

The equation E = mc2 tells about mass – energy relation and both matter and antimatter has a positive mass.

Kinetic Energy and momentum

Ahsan asks:

“if kinetic energy of a body is increased to 100%
than what will be the momentum of the body?”

Answer:

Kinetic Energy is increased by 100% means that the KE is doubled (1+1=2)

From the equation

If E is doubled, P will become √2 times its original value
