EXCEEDING COSMIC LIMIT

ADITYA KIRAN asks:

“i’ve a beautiful doubt…normally we believe that nothing in dis world can cross cosmic limit…now suppose if 2 light particles(velocity=c) collide at right angles,,then their resultant will be [c*root2]…but that is greater than cosmic limit, right?????”

Sequence of Learning Physics

In what sequence should these chapters be prepared for my exams:-
units and dimensions, kinematics, laws of motion, work power and energy, motion of system of particles and rigid body dynamics, gravitation.

Apoorv Katoch asked

Answer:

It is better to follow the same pattern as given in NCERT text book

Physics in Irrigation

Somnath asked:

“water in a canal 6m wide n1.5m deep is flowing with a speed of 10km/hr.How much area will it irrigate in 30min if 8cm of standing water is need”

Answer (to be posted soon)

Can light do some mechanical work?

“We know that sound can cause some mechanical work(eg:when we keep our hand in front of a large speaker,we feel something hitting the back of our hand), but why this doesn’t happen with light??” -Manishankar asks.

A Problem from Motion

Sandeepan Asked:

“Q. Velocity of a moving particle is given by v = t2 – 4. Find out:-
(i) Time at which velocity is zero.
(ii) Acceleration at which t= 1s
(iii) What type of motion uniform or non-uniform.”

Ans:

In the equation, put v=0 to find the time at which velocity equals zero

Differentiate the equation and then put t=1 to find acceleration at t=1s since a = dv/dt

The motion is non uniform as its velocity varies with time.
