The Universe is expanding from a singularity (from &) into nothing, wouldn't that make nothing actually something?

If there was nothing before the  Big Bang, and the Universe is expanding from a singularity into that nothingness, wouldn't that (in effect) make nothing actually something? Also how far in spacetime is the leading edge of the universe from us? (Or ahead of us, if I'm thinking about it correctly )

Whatever you are trying to say needs full base proof and calculations to accuracy. Big bang is imagination so far we have no proof. May be one day our imagination gets proved. Until then there is no answer to your question.
