Infinite energy in Space-Time distortions ?

According to the Lorentz curve in Einsteins’s theory,
a mass cannot move with the speed of light C .
Mass increases towards infinity and you need an infinite amount of energy to overcome an infinte mass’ inertia.

But as far as I can tell, it is the assumtion that you apply a force to the mass, from the outside.
The observer detects a mass increase due to space-time distortions.

I think there would not be a mass increase within it’s own space time.
What if the mass would be provided with energy to propel itself ?
If time would ┬┤slow down┬┤ or space becomes ‘shorter’,
would we not observe that the energy for its propulsion would become infinite as well ?
